I'm running with my game project for my last year at Uni,almost all the roughs are finished and now all i need to do is animate, finish the engine and if i've time do some promotional stuff that the tutors like when you do presentations.

Overall I think I've got the project 35% done over summer so far, which is quite good really when I think about it. Now I've got till september the 16th to do as much as possible to ease the workload off when I start back.

I'll be posting four image dumps of the four main X'ers in the game, this will just be roughs and evolutionay drawings from the design process. After August is done I want to be wroking up soem tasty formal images of the main X'ers so Yays!

The engine is going better than I had planned and as such didn't need as much time on it as I thought it did. Which makes a nice change, itsa normaly the coding part that cuts me up but this project the coding has been a pleasure.

anyway thats me!

Bye

Simon~

Hi Simon

I noticed your new submissions after your quite an absence, from the dev watch, and upon visiting your page from that, the 'random favourites' included ~Si-monty's 'Fire Warming' photo of you and I sat next to a fire.

I like the depth of resonance on your new additions.

Hopefully see you some time this summer. I'm in York until the end of June, then back to Scarborough.

cool glad you like them, I don't want to post too much uncoloured art at the min as I'm trying to improve. Using PS for lighting (burn and dodge) the painter for colour (charcoal and gouache).

OK Simon, things are going to seem complicated at first but this will all become clear once you get to the end of the whole thing. Basically I started writing a comment on your page, it went a bit crazy and while writing it, I was tempted to leave a copy of it on Dan’s latest journal before I left the comment here. I’m also tempted to include this somehow in a journal entry of my own. Anyway, what follows is a short intro I left on Dan’s journal explaining what’s what followed by the full comment:

I started writing the below comment on Simon Johnson's page but decided (as you will see if you read it) to submit it here first for the sheer randomness of it. Now when I go to submit it on Simon’s page do I include this bit? And if I do, do I then write another opening bit just for his version? Anyway, this is what I’d written before coming here with it:

“Oh no, my backlog of Deviations to look through is now 1,694! In fact I have a backlog of my own photos I've yet to look through! I really should get some new work submitted and probably a more up-to-date journal. As for your lack of activity, Mr. Hasn't Logged In In 36 Weeks And 6 Days, that's just silly! What can you be up to that's more important than deviantART? Eh? Well? Anyway, it’s Grassington soon, very soon. Should be fun! Oh no and I’ve just remembered I promised a more detailed journal and photos from the last Grassington trip and that was ages and ages ago… Blarg! Hmm, just noticed too that there’s a lot of exclamation marks in use here in this comment. Probably an excessive amount of the damn things too I expect! Hehe, this comment now looks like a rant and it looks like I’m just here talking to myself at 6:09am which I guess I kind of am, especially as I doubt I’ll get a response to this comment before the year is out! (There I go again). You should see the excessive comment I left on Dan’s latest Journal [link] (that is if it still exists by the time you get this message considering how Dan keeps changing everything). I’m quite enjoying this random comment thingy now. I think I’ll even paste a copy of this proud piece of work in Dan’s new journal for shits and giggles. Or I may even create a new journal entry surrounding this… I’m currently looking back at what I have written and I’m wondering now if I should break it up into more digestible paragraphs considering it’s getting pretty hefty and I can see certain natural points at which new paragraphs would start… Ah, nevermind, I think it works best the way it is, all clumped together and quite possibly awkward to read and understand. Yes indeedy… It’s now 6:19am so I’ve spent a good ten minutes writing since my last time observation a few lines above. Do you think this comment makes me look crazy? Do you think it will make me look crazy if I copy and paste it as a comment in Dan’s latest journal or even if I start my own journal about it as I said earlier? What’s interesting is that if I do paste this comment into Dan’s journal, my own journal or both then this part of it will no doubt be included and it will create a certain paradox about it. Ooh, in fact, what if instead of submitting it here first where I began writing but I leave it as the comment on Dan’s journal and then submit it here? Again this will add to the paradox as the words I’m writing right now will appear in your version (this version), Dan’s version (this version) and my journal version (this version). Probably along with some quirky variation. Although by saying things like “words I’m writing now” creates an extra layer of obscurity considering by the time anyone reads this, it will have been completed. I have an odd mix of tenses going on in my writing… Nice! Thinking about those paragraph breaks again, what if I were to chop up this piece of writing into paragraphs and then re-arrange them in a new order but remove evidence of the paragraphs. This bit could then open the comment rather than close it. Or is that close it rather than open it? Does it even slot in somewhere in the middle? I think that would be just too silly so I won’t do that… Or have I already? Hmm, interesting yeah? No? Didn’t think so.”
